Marketing Plans for Creatives
We help creatives develop marketing plans to match their personal style and values. Most artists, graphic designers, writers and even branding and marketing strategists love creating and conceptualizing graphics, photography and content that engages but avoid marketing their own businesses.
As creatives, our success actually begins when we set aside time each week to work on our own marketing and branding. We guide clients to identify their core strengths and speak confidently about what they distinctively bring to their clients. We believe that your marketing strategy should match your personality. For example, we don't necessarily advocate the approach of attending countless networking events. We would rather see you invest your time in one or two organizations you enjoy and develop a website with high-performance SEO (search engine optimization) that effortlessly leads clients to you.
At the close of each session, we will identify clear action steps and strategies to ensure consistent follow through. As a result, you can earn a livable income doing what you love building a practice that makes you proud.
Marketing Plan in Five Steps
In individual sessions or in the Marketing Mastermind Group, we guide practitioners through the following steps:
- Begin by committing to a purpose/goal (measurable outcome) of your marketing plan that is attainable in less than one year. Identify when you intend to reach this goal.
- Specify the services and/or tools you provide, articulating 3 core strengths and benefits without worrying about the wording.
- Finalize and use your basic message in both formal and informal settings.
- Identify your target market or market segments for the purpose of this plan (examples: local restaurants with at least 3 locations, healthcare professionals earning more than $60K, mid-size non-profits and leaders of mission-centric businesses, people who regularly invest in alternative healing, people who live in NE Portland, etc).
- Delve into promotional/marketing strategies (usually about four). Each strategy leads to specific promotional activities.
